This client had to downsize seriously and, besides that, also had a limited budget. She asked my advise to create a lay-out that would utilise the small space to the max. 

 

For the dining table we choose a square shape as it fitted the the space of this room perfectly. By adding a corner bench, we managed to create a cozy and inviting dining corner with enough space for the family to gather around and with even some spaces left for entertaining guests. The use of dining benches is ideal for smaller rooms and it also maximises the seating space. 

 

By choosing a darker paint colour for the wall we created an interesting contrast against the blush pink cushions, the white chairs and copper pendants but also added more atmosphere to the room. ⁣
 

The client has told me it very quickly became the centre of their open plan kitchen/dining/living area where they spend most of their time.
